This "sea-accented best-of album" combines multi-faceted his GDR classics from the early days of his creative work with partly unreleased sailor songs, timeless summer hits of the past years, as well as a specially produced for the album and his eponymous radio broadcasts single title "Wellen, Wind und mehr...!"
In the former GDR, Dieter Dornig started his career, which continues to this day, and which began in 1977 with a first radio recording "Ein Wiedersehen", and successfully brought him to the Rostock TV studio in 1978, in the TV program
"Hafenbar- Klock 8 - achtern Strom". There he made the Jordan/Hoffmann song "Mutter, ich hab dir solang nicht geschrieben" his unmistakable trademark! The love for the sailor song was born.

Arrived in West Germany in 1988, Dieter Dornig was successful from the start, ZDF "Pyramide" with Dieter-Thomas Heck- or in the "Sunday Concert" with the title "Santa Lucia".
He thrilled the audience with single hits like: "Die Insel im Meer",
"Santa Monica", "Mein Herz geht mit dir auf die Reise" or quite soulful, with "Dich zu finden war mein allergrößtes Glück".
