Part 4 of our Bill Haley & Friends series gives a closer look on the Comets guitar player and vocalist Johnny Kay, next to Franny Beecher the longest serving guitar player in the band. Bill Haley always had a good ear when picking musicians for his Comets and you can hear, on this CD that he got the right guy to play and sing for him. Here he is featured as a guitar player and vocalist with Bill Haley, mostly on their mexican sessions, some solo efforts and his first unreleased recordings as a young upcoming Rock & Roll artist. No wonder Bill Haley picked this outstanding talent.
